Ways to Support Homestead Farm Center
If you’ve ever wondered how you could support us, we’ve broken down the various ways to help us out:
1 – Volunteer
Volunteer your time, talent, and energy! There’s always something to do on the farm and so extra hands are always greatly appreciated. Volunteer your group (church, social organization, club) for a one day group project out at the farm. You can also volunteer as an individual job coach for one of our trainees during one of our summer programs. If you are interested please download this form HFC Volunteer Application and contact us at homesteadfarmcenter@gmail.com to apply.
2 – Contributions
Monetary donations are also vital to allow us to offer activities and expand our programs at Homestead Farm Center. The farm takes a lot of upkeep, and contributions from the community allow us to purchase garden supplies, livestock feed, and classroom materials as well as providing staff for our programs. All contributions are tax deductible.
3 – Investment Donations
Transferring stocks or bonds to our Edward Jones account is another way to directly benefit individuals with disabilities in our community. This account allows us to set aside funds for building projects, future expansion of programs, and the financial stability of Homestead Farm Center. Contact Edward Jones, 419 Fairmont Ave Suite 2, Fairmont, WV 26554 (304) 363-7300 to inquire about donating to HFC.
4 – Other ways to help Homestead Farm Center
Gently used tools, planting supplies, and outdoor equipment are always welcome at the farm center. These can be used by our trainees as they work in the gardens and barn. Clients are also engaged in many craft activities, so Woodworking tools, power equipment of all types, kitchen items, looms, painting materials, and other contributions assist us tremendously by providing in-kind donations to Homestead.
